The ERIEsistible Clowns, formally the Erie Clowns were organized in 1968 when Joe and Jill Kury had a dream and a vision. It was their desire to spread joy and merriment throughout the community. Through the generous donation of land from the Kurys, building materials from the community, and the hard work of many, our 5000 square foot building was completed in 1972. Much laughter can be heard through the walls of Kury Hall and throughout the community as many clowns gather to share their talents of balloon twisting, face painting, juggling, magic, skits and parades. We can also refer you to clowns for your private events. Each year starting in September, we sponsor a clown college. During the 8 week course (1 night/week), proper make-up application and the basic skills of clowning are taught. Besides learning valuable life skills (ha ha ha), lifelong friendships are formed. In addition to our community service, our group of more than 50 members gets together for picnics, Christmas parties, and other special events.
